This June, Appetite for Angus are working in collaboration with regional food and drink groups from Tayside and Fife to showcase local producers to hospitality and wholesale buyers.
More than 30 of the finest food and drink producers across Angus, Dundee, Perthshire, and Fife will attend Tasting Tayside and Fife, an event allowing buyers to sample the regions’ best produce and connect with suppliers.
The free to attend event will take place on Tuesday 13 June from 9am to 12pm at Arbikie Distillery in Angus. Buyers are invited to come to sample regional food and drink as suppliers showcase their produce and network with potential partners.
Events like Tasting Tayside and Fife allow chefs, retailers, distributors and anyone who sells or serves local produce to connect with regional food and drink producers with the potential to secure business partnerships and increase the number of local products on local menus and shelves.
Tasting Tayside and Fife is supported by Scotland Food & Drink and is jointly run by Food from Fife, Great Perthshire, Eat and Drink Dundee, and Appetite for Angus. Similar events have taken place in the Lowlands and the Hebrides, proving to be a popular informal opportunity for the regional food and drink industry to interact.
The event will also feature guest speakers including Will Docker from Balgove Larder, one of Scotland’s highest profile farm shops. Will will discuss the importance of local when selling food and drink. This will be followed by Ernie Millar, Key Account & Liaison Manager with foodservice supplier at Mark Murphy, who will give an insight into wholesale distribution.
Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Scotland’s east coast is home to a fantastic selection produce and Tasting Tayside and Fife is a great opportunity for buyers to see the best the region has to offer.
