It was great to kick off the Appetite for Angus Get Together series with this first webinar, Small and Local is Big News. The Get Togethers are all about learning strategies to grow your sales in a post-lockdown world, exploring trends and opportunities and of course providing an opportunity for food & drink producers and hospitality businesses to meet, get to know each other, and share ideas. The series is being delivered by experts from SAC Consulting and all events are free to attend.

Calum Johnston welcomed attendees and introduced the session, which started with Ceri Ritchie providing excellent insight on recent market and buying trends as the country emerges from lockdown, and discussing how that might affect future trading and what aspects should be taken into account when planning.

Sascha Grierson from Hugh Grierson Organic then shared her experience of operating through the Covid crisis and the impact on their plans, and future opportunities. Fiona Richmond, Head of Regional Food at Scotland Food and Drink gave an update on the RFG program which Appetite for Angus are taking part in.

Attendees were invited to submit questions and comments via chat functionality and these were answered by the speakers. There were a range of great questions and good answers too!
