Appetite for Angus were pleased to be invited to have a stall this year at the popular Beer & Berries festival held at Hospitalfield in Arbroath. It was our first opportunity to attend a physical event and start to raise awareness and start talking to visitors about what the group is about, it’s aims and objectives and planned activities. It was great to share the event with a range of excellent Angus food & drink producers including Angus Growers and Balhungie Berry Farm, Fournos, Shed 35 brewery, Toll House Spirits (Redcastle), Mòr brewing, Angus Oven Baking Co, Ogilvy Spirits and Short’n’Sweet – it was very enjoyable to meet them in person, as well some other producers who were visiting and stopped for a chat.

Stallholders and visitors were blessed with a bright, sunny, if fairly breezy day in the attractive surroundings of Hospitalfield and the attendance was very good, with guests arriving in waves to ensure numbers could be kept at a satisfactory level to meet social distancing requirements.

Beer & Berries proved to be the perfect opportunity to celebrate the rich food and drink culture we have across Angus and Tayside. Now in its fourth year, the annual festival is a great day out for all, with visitors from across Angus and further afield coming along to buy food & drink from stallholders, sign up for spirited talks and inspiring workshops and meet local producers and growers all within the leafy grounds of Hospitalfield House. As well as enjoying the music, perhaps enjoying a local beer, and the delicious food on offer from the Hospitalfield café.
