At Rae’s, we aim to bring great locally sourced, responsibly farmed, fantastic,flavourful food, to the table and showcase Angus’ unbeatable produce.
Truthfully, good food comes from all over the world, and we are not constrained by a cuisine. We work from the inspiration of “farm-to-table” concepts. We want to cut out the conglomerate middlemen, and work, hands on, with local farmers and producers to get the best out of their products.
We serve lunch, dinner, cocktails, and some baked goods throughout the day.
Wouter has over 15 years’ experience, working at some highly acclaimed restaurants in the Netherlands. Wouter comes from Haarlem, The Netherlands, originally where he trained in classic French cookery at culinary college. Wouter works closely with local farmers and small-scale growers, butchers, bakeries, and fishermen to select the best produce from our surrounding areas to showcase in our menus.
Helen has been working in the hospitality industry for many years, mostly in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, although originally comes from Angus. Helen is passionate about food and drink and dining experiences and leads our front of house
team at Rae’s. Helen is always on the hunt for new and unusual Scottish drinks producers, artists or tradespeople to help better the restaurant’s local feel.
