Enjoy an evening of song and stories with Steve Byrne, Erin Farley and Scott Gardiner in the Byre at the Gin Bothy Experience in Glamis.
They’ll tak ye tae Glenisla for Jacobite intrigue. Arbroath for pirates, pipers and piggeries. And to castles, bothies and bow tents along the way. From the Noran Water tae the Norlan Wind, The Laird of Kinpurnie tae the Coo o Farfar.
Our Bothy Bar will be open during the event. Homemade Stovies with Bothy Bakery Oatcakes will be available during the interval (pre-order requested for stovies if possible)

Steve Byrne: Brocht up on the Angus Riviera, Steve has been immersed in traditional music since childhood. An ever-present member of Scots Song heavyweights Malinky, he is also much socht as an accompanist, folklorist and producer. Voted Scots Singer of the Year in 2019, Steve is a co-founder of “Local Voices” – an ongoing project which started oot in Angus, and (amongst other things) gies schoolchildren the chance tae hear, learn and perform songs from their local area.
Erin Farley: Storyteller and historian, wha has just published (hits the pavey on October 7th) Angus Folk Tales wi the History Press. It’s the first collection to bring together historic legends, tales of the supernatural and wee stories from across historic Forfarshire since it was last called Forfarshire. Erin is the local history officer for Dundee Libraries, and helps run the Orkney Storytelling Festival.
Scott Gardiner: Exiled Forfarian and one of Scotland’s top traditional singers, Scott has been performing at concerts and festivals across the country since his schooldays. Career highlights include representing Scotland at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in the USA; winning the Bothy Ballad World Championship in Elgin; twa nominations for Scots Singer of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards, and being first in the stovie queue at Jim Broon’s Bothy Nicht.
